Trade terms in Norway: what works and what catches people out

Norway is outside the EU. A foreign seller doing DDP needs Norwegian VAT registration, through a Norwegian VAT representative unless it is from the UK or a listed EEA state. Low-value B2C parcels can use the VOEC scheme.

Can a foreign seller clear the goods and pay import taxes in this country?

Usable with registration. Foreign businesses with taxable turnover above NOK 50,000 in 12 months must join the VAT Register; without a fixed place of business in Norway they must register with a Norwegian VAT representative (businesses from the UK and listed EEA states are exempt from that requirement).
